Counselling
Safe, Empathic and Professional space
We all need to be heard, to feel like we matter. I provide a safe and welcoming space where we can talk. I offer short and long term counselling for children, young people and adults.
Counselling provides a space where you are able to explore and be yourself without judgement or being told what you should do. We are all unique, my approach is different
for each person. My approach is person centred however I also have training in creative counselling and depending on your needs, we also can look at Psychoeducation and strategies.
This is a safe, supportive, and affirming space for everyone - regardless of your background, identity or lived experience. I warmly welcome individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community. people of all races, cultures and faiths, as well as those who are neurodivergent, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, epilepsy and sensory sensitives and other ways of processing the world.
I recognise that each person's journey is unique, and I'm committed to providing a compassionate, non judgemental environment where you can feel seen, heard and valued. I aim to ensure that my counselling approach is accessible, trauma informed, and responsible to the diverse needs of those I work with. You are welcome exactly as you are.
Couples and Relationship Counselling
I help couples understand more about themselves and their relationship, discovering when things started to change and this enables you to move forwards to developing a healthier relationship. ​

Post-diagnosis counselling, often when we receive a diagnosis of a condition or a loved one has received a diagnosis this could be ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Epilepsy or a life changing condition we need time to process and reflect on what this means as a couple. Attending as a couple can allow you to have a space, confidential and non judgemental space to explore these changes.
I also offer support for parents and family members who have children going through the diagnosis process, this can be a lonely journey and often we need a safe space to share.​​​​


Children and Young People's Counselling
I offer counselling for children and young people, integrating creative play techniques.
I have over 20 years experience working with children and young people and have completed training in therapeutic play and advanced children and young people's therapy.
Parent and Carer Support
I offer family support focussing understanding neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD, AuDHD, Dyslexia and other diagnosis) I also work with the siblings and partners and the wider family. Another focus if family breakdown and parent/carer breakdown. I use mindfulness strategies and PsychoEducational support to enable families to understand each other.

Online appointments
Online counselling can be just as effective as face to face and for some people it is much more accessible, I offer online appointments throughout the week. If you choose to meet online, I'll send you a link that is easy to use and all you'll need is an internet connection. Online appointments can be helpful if you live outside of Burnley or Todmorden and can't access the venues. If you have mobility issues which make face to face counselling difficult to access. If you work shifts or difficult hours or if you just feel more comfortable working online.
Face to face appointments
I offer in person appointments at two different venues in Burnley, on Thursday 8-9pm and Friday 1-5.30pm I use Lodge House which is a shared building however the counselling space is quiet and spacious.
Walk and Talk
I offer walk and talk therapy as an alternative to online and indoor counselling appointments. I offer therapy & 1-1 mindfulness outdoors, usually in a local park that is a safe and the route is pre planned together prior to the appointment. If this is something you are interested in please just let me know.

Student Counsellors
Student training in counselling are usually required to undertake personal therapy as part of their course. This can be an essential part of the training to become a counsellor. I offer a reduced rate for student counsellors. There are many benefits to therapy as a counsellor, it can give you a supportive space during your course, it enables you to explore unresolved issues from the past. It can enable growth and increase self awareness. It can also help you explore how theory can relate to your own journey.
Creative Counselling
I offer creative counselling for adults, children, young people as well as couples and parents/carers. You do not need to be artistic to take part in creative therapy. Using creativity could include; journaling poetry stories/fairy tales painting drawing comic scripts Minecraft Buttons Stones Beads Cards Sand tray Clay Creative therapy can also be done online during appointments it does not need to be face to face. It would be good if you bring along a sketchbook and some pencils and pens if you have them available.

Once you've made contact, I will respond to your email and we can set up an appointment as a mutually agreed time.

Once you've had the free initial appointment/consultation.
I will send you a copy of the counselling agreement/contract for you to sign. This will be explained more in our initial meeting. We will book a time for your first counselling appointment.
